Famous Pakistani Qawal Maqbool Ahmed Sabri died of a heart attack in South Africa, on Wednesday.
He was born on October 12, 1941 in Kalyana, he along with his elder brother Ghulam Fareed Sabri formed the famous duo Sabri Brothers. Their first recording was released in 1958 and they were the first exponents of Qawwali to the West.
Sabri was a heart patient and recently traveled to South Africa for his treatment. His death is a great set back for Qawali in the Indo-Pak sub-continent.
His famous Qawali“Tajdar-e-Haram” had gain very popularity all over the subcontinent.
Maqbool Ahmed Sabri leaves behind a wife and five children.
